Press Release: ISA, the Intelligent Scoring Assistant
The International Training Centre for Bankers Ltd. (ITCB) has started a research project with a total budget of 175,32 million HUF with a grant from National Research, Development and Innovation Fund (NRDI Fund). The research project is accomplished with the support of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology aiding research and development projects (Programme 2020-1.1.2-PIACI KFI).
During our research, we will develop a financial risk management-based intelligent scoring offer maker, which will automatically assess the financial situation of companies and the financial strength of individuals based on the available data. Based on the available information, our system will use several types of machine learning algorithms and reveal the connections in the data and make a proposal corresponding to the credibility of a given company or individual.
The smart offer maker, as an agent, can be integrated into any lending frontend and can provide accurate advice to both banking experts and customers. From the bank side, you can also analyze fraud and financial risks and make suggestions as an independent party to help you make lending decisions. On the client's side, if the client so requests, the system can make a similar risk assessment based on the account information, evaluate the clients’ level of risk based on its own transactions before and during a loan application, and provide advice to the client how to be safe with his own finances.
The final form of the offer maker is aimed to be an easy-to-use interface that, where appropriate, communicates with the users in form of questions, connected to a banking front-end system, so that both banking experts and clients can easily gain insight into the world of risk management.
Existing, similar solutions are quite complex and expensive to use, and require coding / modeling and risk management expertise to handle. We will design our solution for non-experts, as it will interact with its user in a way another human would do, and it will ask questions and uses free text answers in developing risk management models that can help an inexperienced colleague develop an excellent model.
The final sulution would be not only useful for making financial risk predictions, due to its flexible data processing capabilities it is aimed to be a universal tool to assess risks in all industries. Though the model will be developed in a financial focus, the final tool will be able to capture the analytic needs of varying fields of studies.
The research activity started on 1st February 2021 and will end on 31st January, 2024. The research project is funded trough a grant from NRDI Fund and own funds.
